Russell, Manitoba is a beautiful town about 1.5 hours drive west and south of Dauphin. A signature feature in this town is the Arches installation along Main Street, with the old wooden ones recently being replaced with metal. About a year ago my design entries into the Russell Arches artwork competition were accepted for adorning 2 legs out of 24 on the steel arches running along Main Street in Russell. An artist friend living there shared with me the decorative plates were installed yesterday and sent me photos of the ones done from my designs! There were 24 decorative plates in total designed by Manitoba artists that are being installed and I can't wait to get to Russell and see all of them! Road trip plans are in the works! Meantime here is a sneak peak at the installed versions of "Manitoba Pickerel" and "Bees and Flax" along with what the arches looked like last year without any decor. A huge thank-you to all the folks involved in this project for choosing my designs and making them come alive!!
