Unity in Diversity

My zenwork “Unity in Diversity” is rich with symbolism – from the pairing of patterns incorporated into its design to the colors chosen to complete the piece. It speaks of overcoming barriers through patience and tolerance, that humanity’s strength and wisdom lies in a new beginning of its’ oneness, through the positive energy generated by our recognizing the value of unity in diversity, appreciating, respecting and acknowledging diversity and unifying with it as essential to our future. The yellows shine with cheerful optimism, the color of sunlight and idealism bringing the promise of a positive future, while the orange radiates warmth and energy, encourages socialization brought about by the edgey force of changing perceptions. Aqua tones promote refreshing and uplifting spiritual advancement and commitment, calming and balancing the mind and emotions. Purple is the color of imagination, uplifting and creative, full of grace and enlightenment. May the cosmos bless us and may we become unified in our diversity. My Zenworks express my love of pen and ink and a desire to meld symbolism with abstract imagery created through spontaneous strokes and repetitive patterns. Zenworks emerge via a tranquil, meditative process that frees me to explore and experiment with line, shape and colour.
